Job summary

WellSpan Health is seeking a Trauma Registrar to abstract trauma-related data from medical records and enter it into the Trauma Registry for quality assessment and research. The role requires maintaining data confidentiality while ensuring timely reporting and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has a health-related background, a relevant certificate preferred, and will participate in ongoing continuing education to support accurate data capture and registry integrity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Certificate program in medicalsecretarial or medical record technician is preferred.
• 1 year health-related field experience required.

Responsibilities

• Abstracts data from patients' medical records and enters into the Trauma Registry.
• Organizes input and maintains patient data to conform to registry standards; preserves confidentiality and security of data.
• Assists with data collection for quality assessment/management, special studies and research; prepares reports.
• Performs tasks related to Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation standards and Trauma Center accreditation.
• Compiles data for regularly scheduled or special reports and analyses.
• Enters/retrieves data from computer files; interfaces with outside agencies.
• Maintains trauma registry records and ensures target of 85% cases abstracted within 42 days of discharge.
