Job summary

Qualifications

  • Current Florida RN license.
  • BSN graduate; Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years emergency/trauma nursing; trauma-system experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • American Heart Association BLS required at hire.

Job Title

Trauma Program Nurse Manager

Position Overview

The Trauma Program Nurse Manager is a registered nurse leader who organizes and oversees the services and systems essential to a multidisciplinary approach in caring for injured pediatric patients. Working in partnership with the Trauma Medical Director, this leader ensures the highest standards of care, compliance with state trauma system regulations, and continuous improvement in patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct the planning, development, and daily operations of the pediatric trauma program
  • Partner with the Trauma Medical Director to maintain compliance with Florida Department of Health standards
  • Develop and manage the program’s operational budget
  • Lead performance improvement initiatives focused on quality outcomes and patient safety
  • Oversee trauma policies, protocols, and registry documentation
  • Provide leadership for professional education and community outreach related to trauma services
  • Participate in local, regional, and state trauma system activities
Qualifications
  • Current RN license in the State of Florida
  • Graduate of an accredited BSN program; Master’s degree required.
  • Minimum of three years of emergency and trauma nursing experience; trauma system experience preferred
  • Proven leadership and team‑building skills
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical abilities
  • American Heart Association BLS required upon hire
Position Requirements
  • Current RN license in the State of Florida
  • Graduate of a BSN accredited school of nursing; Master’s preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of emergency and trauma nursing experience; prior experience within a trauma system preferred
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Is flexible and adapts to change
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Strong leadership skills including effective team building
  • An American Heart Association BLS required upon hire
