Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking an RN Trauma Performance Improvement (PI) Coordinator to lead the Trauma Program’s work from arrival to discharge, ensuring high‑quality, safe care. You will review cases with the Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Program Director, analyze performance data, and implement changes to meet ACS and state standards.

You will educate clinical teams and collaborate on guideline development, verification, and ongoing improvements across the trauma service line, including

Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date.
• PALS within 30 days of employment start date.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course within 1 year of employment start date.
• RN with 5 years of ER and/or ICU experience.
• Associate degree or bachelor’s degree required.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze trauma cases in real time and retrospectively to assess quality and adherence to guidelines.
• Identify performance-improvement opportunities and support action plans driving closed-loop improvements.
• Coordinate and document Trauma PI activities, PI events, data elements, and registry information.
• Prepare and present selected cases, trends, and quality findings for multidisciplinary meetings.
• Educate clinical teams, EMS, and outlying facilities on trauma PI principles and best practices.
• Collaborate on guideline development, research, verification preparation, and service-line improvements.
