Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in High Point, NC seeks a Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our Acute Care Surgery team at High Point Medical Center. This full-time role focuses on emergency general surgery and trauma, with inpatient and outpatient responsibilities and OR first assist duties.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule, evening call rotation including weekends, RVU incentives, and comprehensive benefits. New graduates are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current NCCPA certification.
• Eligible for or current North Carolina Physician Assistant licensure.
• Ability to obtain medical staff privileges at High Point Medical Center.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage EGS and trauma surgery patients across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and formulate treatment plans.
• Collaborate with trauma surgeons and multidisciplinary care teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Serve as first assist during surgical procedures.
• Manage pre-operative and post-operative patient care.
• Participate in evening and weekend call rotation schedules.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
• Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans and follow-up care.

Overview

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our Acute Care Surgery team at High Point Medical Center in High Point, North Carolina.

This full-time position offers the opportunity to practice emergency general surgery (EGS) and trauma surgery in both inpatient and outpatient settings while working closely with surgeons in a collaborative, high-acuity environment. The Physician Assistant will provide comprehensive patient care and serve as a first assist in the operating room.

Schedule & Call

The Physician Assistant works a Monday through Friday schedule and participates in a weekly evening call rotation that includes weekend call responsibilities. The role includes responsibilities in both the outpatient clinic and inpatient hospital settings, as well as serving as first assist in the operating room.
