Job summary

Northeast Healthcare Recruitment, Inc. (NEHCR) seeks a Board Certified General Surgeon to serve as Trauma Medical Director for a Level III Trauma Center in Northern California.

This leadership role combines clinical practice with trauma quality oversight and program development. Compensation ranges from $400,000 to $500,000 with benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) with employer match, CME and licensing allowance, and tail coverage.

Qualifications

  • Board-certified General Surgeon required.
  • Surgical Critical Care certification preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide physician leadership and oversight for the trauma program.
  • Ensure compliance with ACS and CA Level III Standards.
  • Lead trauma quality and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in trauma committees, peer review, and conferences.
  • Serve as a liaison between trauma service, hospital leadership, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Respond to trauma activations and acute surgical consultations.
  • Provide Trauma and Acute Care Surgery patient care and operative cases.
  • Coordinate inpatient rounds and multidisciplinary treatment plans.
  • Support ongoing trauma program development and operational initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Providephysician leadership and oversight for the trauma program.
  • Ensurecompliance with ACS and applicable California Level III Trauma Centerstandards.

Requirements
  • BoardCertified in General Surgery required.
  • SurgicalCritical Care certification preferred, not required.
  • Minimum5 years of post-graduate clinical experience.
  • Currentor recent Trauma and Acute Care Surgery experience.
  • Experiencepracticing at a Level I, II, or III Trauma Center.
  • Priortrauma leadership experience preferred.
  • CurrentCalifornia medical license or eligibility for California licensure.
