Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Augusta is seeking a Lead Trauma Registered Nurse for a part-time day-shift (7a-7p) role. The hospital is a Level II Trauma Center and ACS verified, serving the Central Savannah River Area with a renowned Burn Center and comprehensive stroke care.

The RN will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care, acting as an advocate and collaborating with medical providers to ensure safe, efficient care during emergent situations and surgical site verification.

Qualifications

• Emergency RN experience or training in trauma settings is preferred.
• Completion of Trauma Nursing Core Course within 6 months of start date.
• RN licensure in good standing (GA or multi-state).
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required within 30 days of employment start date.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 30 days of employment start date.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, report changes.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document care in the patient record in a timely manner.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor response.
• Prepare patients for surgery, including IV therapy and surgical site verification.
