Job summary

The Oaks Academy in Brownwood, Texas, is seeking a part-time Youth Care Worker to join a trauma-informed, gender-responsive program for youth ages 13-17. The role focuses on safety, supervision, and contributing to individualized treatment plans.

You will support daily living, education, and recreation, document behaviors, and collaborate with a team to help youth progress toward their goals. A HS diploma and background checks are required, with up to 25 hours a week.

Qualifications

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Able to pass criminal background check, drug, physical, and TB tests.
• Able to pass a search of the child abuse central registry.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety and around-the-clock in-person supervision of youth in a secure residential facility.
• Meet physical, personal and health needs of youth through counseling and skill development.
• Monitor and document youth behaviors and activities.
• Support educational, social, athletic and recreational activities, collaborating on treatment goals.
