Job summary

Valley Youth House in Bethlehem is seeking a Certified Peer Specialist to support young adults in community settings. The role involves maintaining a caseload, delivering one-on-one support, and fostering active participation in person-centered planning.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Have received or are receiving mental health services for a serious emotional disturbance or serious mental illness.
  • Be a mature person with sound judgment and a positive role model for youth and families.
  • Never been convicted of child abuse offenses and have Act 33-34 clearances.
  • Meet the educational and/or experiential qualifications per state guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a caseload of up to 22 hours of billable contact, with at least 90% face-to-face.
  • Engage and sustain clients in the Certified Peer Specialist program.
  • Provide in-home, school, and community-based support.
  • Assist clients in developing individual service plans and person-centered delivery of services.
  • Attend supervision and training to maintain CPS requirements.
  • Support youth in problem solving for community reintegration and mental health directives.
  • Document progress in Strength Based Assessments, Individualized Service Plans, and Crisis plans.
  • Provide transportation using staff vehicle for non-billable services and community activities.
  • Complete administrative duties including progress notes and timesheets within deadlines.
  • Report any high-risk situations to supervisor promptly.
