Job summary

Young Community Developers is seeking a Youth Development Advocate for the Phoenix Project in San Francisco. This in-person, part-time role provides relentless outreach to youth in HOPE SF communities, including trauma-informed coaching and coordination with partners.

You will document interactions, visit schools, collect documents, and help youth access education, employment and health resources. The role requires at least 5 years in youth work in trauma-impacted settings, proficiency with

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years experience working with youth and young adults in trauma impacted areas.
• Demonstrate competency with using Salesforce, data entry, Microsoft Office Suite, Google platform, Zoom and other technology platforms.
• Valid California Driver’s license with proof of insurance.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written communications, patience, diplomacy, and high level of customer service skills.
• Ability to think critically, problem solve and be resourceful.
• Embraces cultural differences and is willing to foster diversity, equity and inclusion.
• Self-motivated individual who has a passion to ensure that program goals, objectives and tasks are completed in a timely fashion and exceeds standards.

Responsibilities

• Complete the initial baseline mental health surveys and needs assessments during enrollment.
• Administer 1-year follow-up re-surveys and meet with youth to evaluate changes.
• Visit schools at least twice a week as directed.
• Collect and secure documents for Phoenix Life Coach.
• Attend IEP meetings for clients as directed.
• Document detailed participant contacts in Salesforce.
• Engage in outreach and community events to build authentic relationships with residents.
