Job summary

One Hope United is seeking an IPS Mentor I to provide individualized mentoring to children and teens in DCFS custody, in a part-time role. The position emphasizes trauma-informed care, strength-based strategies, and development of social and daily living skills.

You will coach youth in communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, while coordinating with clinicians and caregivers. The role involves travel within local coverage areas, occasional transportation duties, and

Qualifications

• 0 to 2 years’ experience in childcare work, Social Services, Counseling, mentoring or equivalent combination of education or experience preferred.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license are recommended.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one mentoring sessions in a trauma-informed, strength-based approach.
• Support youth in social, communication, and daily living skills.
• Coordinate with IPS Counselor/Clinician and caregivers to implement plans.
• Attend trainings and meetings as required and report progress weekly.
