Job summary

Mount Olivet Rolling Acres is seeking a Youth Counselor to support youth experiencing mental health crises in community-based crisis settings. You will implement interventions from the therapeutic support plan and assist with daily activities, hygiene, meals, routines, and community outings.

The program operates in Minnesota with a 40-hour per pay period schedule, including day and evening shifts and some weekend work.

Qualifications

• 21 years or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with youth in residential, shelter or crisis program.
• Must pass Department of Human Services background check and maintain “qualified” status.
• Must be able to meet the company’s physical job demands.
• Driver’s license with valid insurance.
• TCI training completed with a score ≥70% within two months of employment.
• Medication Administration training completed with ≥80% accuracy.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Engage with client daily activities and manage behavior according to the individual plan.
• Approach all interactions from a trauma-informed perspective.
• Attend team and client meetings.
• Ensure client safety by implementing behavior interventions as described in the plan.
• Take clients into the community and model safe social skills.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA and agency policies.
• Prepare meals and assist with daily household tasks.
• Document in required systems and coordinate with supports.
