Job summary

OhioGuidestone in Berea, OH, is seeking a part-time Youth Care Specialist for 1st shift on Saturdays and Sundays to support residential youth. The role centers on safety, trauma-informed care, and daily routine management within a treatment setting.

You will work with a Residential Treatment team to provide supervised activities, crisis intervention, and documentation while maintaining professional boundaries and a therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor’s in Psychology, Mental Health, Social Work or related field preferred.
• Crisis intervention training or experience highly recommended.
• 1+ years’ experience with high risk/at risk youth, corrections or mental health population required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates OhioGuidestone values and ethics on every shift.
• Builds nurturing relationships with residents and staff.
• Observes professional boundaries with residents at all times.
• Supervises residents to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment during shift.
• Provides crisis intervention per policy and procedures.
• Develops structured routines for daily functioning of youth residents.
• Organizes activities and educational groups to aid growth.
• Participates in weekly supervision with Program Manager.
