Job summary

Guiding Harbor in Belleville, MI is looking for a Youth Specialist to provide supervision, safety, and welfare for female residents aged 10-17 in the Girlstown Residential Program. This role involves supporting their treatment and daily activities while creating a nurturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Social Work or related field, experience with trauma-affected youth, and skills in First Aid and CPR. Duties include monitoring activities, providing direction, and reporting on resident needs.

Qualifications

• Understanding of working with children who have experienced trauma.
• Must be trained in First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
• Must display sophisticated writing and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour care, supervision, safety and welfare of the residents.
• Monitor and assist residents during study time.
• Maintain effective supervision of residents on all floors.

Skills

Knowledge and experience in working with abuse/neglect teenagers

Ability to provide direction and supervision to residents

Strong skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, Project

Education

Associates degree in Social Work or related field
