Job summary

One Family Illinois is seeking a Youth Care Worker for the Safe Haven Emergency Foster Care Program in Chicago. You will provide day-to-day supervision, care, and support to children entering foster placement during emergency transitions.

You will help with meals, schoolwork, activities, and routines; build trusting relationships; respond trauma-informed; maintain safety per DCFS; document observations; collaborate with foster families and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1-2 years of college or an associate's degree preferred.
• Experience with youth presenting behavioral, educational, and emotional challenges is advantageous.
• Pass DCFS background check including CANTS/SACWIS and SORS.
• Valid Illinois driver's license and reliable transportation are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and care for youth in the Safe Haven Program.
• Assist with meals, schoolwork, recreation, hygiene, and bedtime.
