Job summary

Koinonia Family Services in San Diego is seeking a part-time Family Specialist to support youth and families in wraparound services. The role involves home- and community-based interventions, modeling positive behavior, and implementing targeted plans of care to promote stability and well-being.

The position requires an associate’s degree in behavioral science or related coursework, with about 15 hours per week to start and potential for more hours as the program grows.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a behavioral science-related field (or substantial AA coursework).
• At least 1 year of experience with high-risk youth (preferred).
• Lived experience with foster care/adoption considered.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with youth and families in home and community to develop positive relationships and implement the plan of care.
• Model positive behavior and implement targeted behavioral interventions to promote stabilization in the home and community.
• Provide skill-building interventions for youth and family to improve behavioral outcomes.
• Participate in family-centered, strength-based, culturally sensitive planning to create individualized plans of care.
• Support youth to participate effectively in child and family team (CFT) meetings.
• Implement strengths-based behavior plans with community and school linkages.
• Maintain case files for assigned youth and families.
• Transport youth to appointments and community resources.
