Job summary

The Children’s Home Society of New Jersey seeks a Visitation Aide for the Supportive Visitation Services program. The role operates in home-based settings across Hunterdon and Warren Counties, New Jersey, with responsibilities including transporting families, supervising visits, and maintaining safety and confidentiality.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma and at least one year of experience with children and families, preferably in child welfare or trauma-affected contexts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year experience with children and families, particularly families involved with the child welfare system and/or affected by trauma.
• Thirty (30) semester hour credits from an accredited college, including twelve (12) credits in behavioral sciences, may be substituted for the experience.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and/or parents to and from visitation locations and ensure passenger safety.
• Supervise visits and document transportation encounters and visits.
• Communicate with visitation specialists, parents, resource parents, children, etc.
• Engage with families in a culturally sensitive manner and respect language preferences.
• Maintain a trauma-informed approach to coaching and engagement.
