Job summary

The Lane County District Attorney's Office Victim Services Program is seeking a dedicated Victim Advocate to guide victims and families through crisis, safety planning and referrals. You will help clients understand the justice process and stay connected to essential supports as cases move forward.

You will collaborate with prosecutors, law enforcement and community partners, bringing empathy, professionalism and strong communication to a demanding but rewarding environment.

Qualifications

• Requires equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade; additional training in social work, sociology, corrections or counseling desirable.
• Two years of responsible experience in community service providing direct client assistance and coordinating/training volunteers.
• Criminal background check required and successfully passed before employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention, emotional support, safety planning and referrals to community resources.
• Explain the criminal justice process, court procedures and offender supervision conditions to victims and families.
• Support victims through investigations and prosecutions, coordinating with prosecutors, law enforcement and community partners.
