Job summary

Kings County District Attorney’s Office is seeking a Victim Advocate to assist crime victims and their families through the criminal justice process. The role emphasizes trauma-informed crisis intervention, advocacy, and coordination with community services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field.
• Three years of direct work experience in victim services.
• Excellent communication and crisis intervention skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed crisis intervention and criminal justice advocacy to crime victims and their families.
• When necessary accompany victims to court.
• Assess urgency of victims’ needs and link to immediate community services.
• Maintain contact with victims throughout the case and link to resources.
• Assist victims with counseling and social work services as needed.
• Perform case management and related duties.
• Conduct outreach and trainings related to working with crime victims.
