Job summary

Empower Mental Health in San Francisco seeks a compassionate LPC or LCSW to provide short-term therapy for clients injured in accidents. The role focuses on emotional healing, trauma processing, and building coping skills within a defined time frame.

You will perform assessments, develop treatment plans, deliver CBT, mindfulness, and other brief modalities, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, document progress, and generate reports for legal or insurance purposes.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field.
• Current state licensure as Mental Health Therapist or Counselor.
• Specialized trauma-focused training.
• Experience in short-term therapy with injury-related clients preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
• Familiarity with legal and insurance considerations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assessment and Treatment Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments and collaborate with clients to develop short-term plans.
• Therapeutic Interventions: Provide CBT, mindfulness, and other brief modalities for trauma, anxiety, and depression.
• Crisis Intervention: Respond effectively to crisis situations and coordinate with emergency services as needed.
• Education and Coping Strategies: Educate clients on trauma effects and coping strategies to foster resilience.
• Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Team: Provide updates on mental health progress with the team.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain progress notes and reports for legal or insurance needs.
• Ethical Standards: Protect confidentiality and adhere to professional guidelines.
