Job summary

Walker Therapeutic & Educational Programs seeks a Therapeutic Mentor/Training & Support (TM/TT&S) to provide community-based therapeutic support to children, adolescents, and families. The role emphasizes mentoring, skill-building in emotional regulation, and collaboration with a clinical team to strengthen stabilization and functioning in home and community settings.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field.
Must be able to obtain a certification as a community health worker within 2 years of employment.
Bilingual capabilities are preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Provide individualized therapeutic support to youth and caregivers, focusing on emotional regulation and pro-social skills.
Collaborate with clinical treatment teams to implement goals in each youth’s plan.
Offer one-to-one mentoring and coaching to youth and families in home and community settings.
Support families in strengthening routines and preventing out-of-home placements.
Deliver services in homes and community settings, adapting approaches to cultures and needs.
