Job summary

Tahirih Justice Center in Washington, DC is seeking a Social Services Advocate to support immigrant women and girls fleeing gender-based violence. Based out of our Greater DC office, this role requires emotional intelligence and discretion to provide trauma-informed, client-centered services.

You will collaborate with the Social Services Program Manager, manage casework, write letters, and connect clients with housing, education, benefits, and supportive services while maintaining accurate

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master's Degree in Social Work or related mental health/social sciences field
• 1 year of experience providing direct social services or case management to trauma survivors preferred
• Spanish language ability preferred (written and spoken)
• Strong time management and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Triage emergencies, provide crisis intervention and safety planning
• Collaborate with legal and social services teams on interdisciplinary case-management
• Provide trauma-informed, client-centered services and referrals
• Enroll clients in TVAP and manage related administrative tasks
• Support housing, education, transportation, and public benefits referrals
• Write letters of support for clients
• Maintain regular client contact and case notes
• Support program development, evaluation, and outreach activities
• Supervise volunteers or interns as needed
