Job summary

Little Flower Children and Family Services of New York is hiring a Residential Shift Supervisor for our Wading River facility. The role supervises the direct care team on a 40-hour per week, in-person shift (Sunday–Thursday, 8 am–4 pm), with travel to campus as needed and strong emphasis on trauma-informed, youth-centered care.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate degree or higher and has at least 2 years in youth residential care, behavioral health, or child welfare, with solid supervisory

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in youth residential care, behavioural health, or child welfare setting.
• Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed care, behavioural support, and youth development principles.
• Knowledge of OCFS regulations and documentation standards preferred.
• Strong communication, supervision, and crisis response skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise direct care team on assigned shift and ensure trauma-informed, youth-centered programming.
• Coordinate shift tasks, staff assignments, and scheduling to maintain OCFS-compliant staff-to-youth ratios.
• Provide real-time coaching and support to direct care staff; participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings.
• Lead de-escalation efforts during behavioral incidents and crises and ensure proper documentation.
• Assist with hiring, disciplinary actions and termination of residential staff.
• Travel to Wading River campus and other locations as needed.
