Job summary

State of New Hampshire, Sununu Youth Services Center, Manchester, NH, seeks a Director of Secure Treatment Services for its sole secure facility for adjudicated and detained youth. This full‑time executive role leads clinical, educational, and administrative programs within a trauma‑informed framework while maintaining security and compliance.

The candidate will oversee budget, staffing, operations, and partnerships, driving strategic plans to reduce recidivism and improve youth outcomes.

Qualifications

• Education: Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree with related field.
• Eight or ten years of progressive executive-level leadership experience in youth/behavioral health settings.
• Experience with trauma-informed care and collaboration with external stakeholders.
• License: Valid driver’s license or transportation for statewide travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and strategic direction for SYSC’s secure treatment operations.
• Oversee program administration, budgeting, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead development of a trauma-informed, therapeutic model while ensuring security.
• Manage relationships with staff, union reps, policymakers, and external partners.
• Represent SYSC with stakeholders and lead reports to inform decisions.
