Job summary

Brooklyn Center Community Schools is seeking a Restorative Practice Specialist for the remainder of the 2026-2027 school year at Brooklyn Center Secondary. The role emphasizes a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach, delivering training, consultation, and services to support restorative justice in the school.

Daily supervision of students during contact times and creating a safe, welcoming learning environment are key duties.

Qualifications

Associate's degree or certification in restorative practices; sufficient education to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Experience working with young people.

Responsibilities

Support restorative justice and civic education efforts across the school.
Collaborate with Restorative Practices Coordinator and Principals to implement restorative practices.
Conduct trauma interviews to support students using trauma-informed methods.
Design community and individual-based interventions to keep students connected to the school.
Provide school-based support for Restorative Circles and restorative discipline programs.
Collaborate with staff on whole-school restorative approaches and safe student supervision.
