Job summary

Sacramento Children's Home is seeking a Residential Counselor to provide leadership and supervision for residents, ensuring safety and consistent daily routines. You will use Love and Logic approaches, deliver trauma-informed care, and work with a treatment team to support each child’s development.

The position offers varied shifts at 2750 Sutterville Rd, Sacramento, CA 95820, with hourly pay between $22.29 and $25.07 and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any field or equivalent teaching permit.
• 12-semester units in ECE/Adolescent Development or Psychology.
• Certificate as Alcohol/Drug Counselor or Vocational Training credential.
• 1+ year of experience in residential settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of residents at all times and follow supervision guidelines.
• Assist residents with daily activities and routines.
• Provide a caring, warm environment and model positive behavior.
• Orient new residents to campus programs and maintain clean, safe bedrooms.
• Maintain communication with staff and participate in treatment team meetings.
• Complete documentation and reports as required by policy.
• Distribute meds for self-administration and assist with transportation as needed.
• Attend team meetings and participate in Needs and Services treatment planning.
