Job summary

HeartShare is seeking a Performing Arts Youth Engagement Specialist (0.50 FTE) to deliver trauma-informed, culturally responsive arts programs for youth in HSVS foster care across New York City. You will design and facilitate weekly workshops in theater, movement, voice, storytelling, and devised performance, creating safe spaces that support emotion regulation and positive identity formation.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: high school diploma or GED.
• Preferred: bachelor's degree in related field.
• Experience with youth in community-based, residential, or child welfare settings.
• Experience in performing arts instruction or facilitation.

Responsibilities

• Design and facilitate weekly performing arts workshops for HSVS foster care youth.
• Deliver instruction in theater, movement, voice, storytelling and devised work.
• Create trauma-informed, safe spaces for youth engagement.
• Support youth in developing original or collaborative performances.
• Coordinate with HSVS teams and case planners to support engagement goals.
• Maintain attendance records and contribute to program reporting.
