Job summary

YWCA Seattle King Snohomish is seeking a Mobile Flexible Advocate, Gender Based Violence to support survivors in the Renton, WA area. You will work onsite at the NEXT STEP HOTEL Program, helping adults gain housing stability, food security, and essential supports through trauma-informed, strength-based advocacy and case management.

The role requires travel between sites, vehicle access, and ongoing education in advocacy for domestic violence.

Qualifications

• 1 year of housing/shelter experience with survivors of gender-based violence
• Vehicle with WA driver's license and ability to travel independently between multiple work sites
• Proficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Calendar, Teams, Excel
• Strong advocacy skills with trauma-informed approach
• Ability to navigate multiple systems (human services, health, law enforcement)
• Excellent written and spoken communication
• Maintain 20 hours of continued education on advocacy-based DV

Responsibilities

• Provide housing, food, intake and other essential supports to adult survivors.
• Use trauma-informed advocacy with strength-based approach and counseling where needed.
• Respond to referrals and calls within required time frame.
• Conduct client intakes and assess eligibility to determine support needs.
• Collect and report data and narratives for quarterly updates.
• Develop relations with community partners and attend meetings.
• Create and deliver presentations for partners and services.
• Engage in community networking to improve access for survivors, especially Black and African American communities.
• Maintain ongoing education in advocacy-based domestic violence.
