Job summary

Prospering Minds Counseling in Carol Stream, IL seeks a full-time Licensed Mental Health Therapist with trauma-focused expertise to support individuals, couples, and families. The role emphasizes evidence-based treatment, ethical practice, and a collaborative team environment.

The ideal clinician will manage a 20–30 hour clinical week, provide compassionate, client-centered care, and participate in ongoing professional development within a trauma-informed private practice.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in counseling, clinical psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, or a related field.
• Active Illinois clinical license or license-eligible (LPC, LSW, LCPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent).
• Experience treating trauma-related concerns including PTSD, Complex PTSD, dissociation, or relational trauma.
• Ability to work primarily in person at the Carol Stream office and hybrid sessions available.
• Availability on Mondays, weeknights, and Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed, evidence-based therapy to individuals, couples, and/or families.
• Maintain a caseload of approximately 20–30 clinical hours per week.
• Develop individualized treatment plans reflecting clients' goals, needs, and strengths.
• Build authentic, trusting therapeutic relationships with clients.
• Utilize trauma-informed interventions prioritizing safety, empowerment, collaboration, and stabilization.
• Provide a warm, client-centered, compassionate environment.
• Complete accurate clinical documentation in line with ethical and legal standards.
• Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and professional development.
• Collaborate with leadership and team members to support a healthy work culture.
• Engage in ongoing professional learning related to trauma treatment and clinical growth.
• Maintain professional boundaries and ethical standards.
