Job summary

Universal Hospital Services Inc. is seeking a Behavioral Health Tech (BHT/MHT) to support residents with trauma-informed care and pro-social skill development.

You will engage in psycho-educational groups, activities, and coaching, while ensuring safety and consistent supervision. The role includes full-time shifts with competitive hourly pay and shift differentials.

Training is provided, benefits start after 31 days, and a 401k plan is available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED REQUIRED; Bachelors' degree preferred, but not required, in a human service field or working toward a degree
• MUST be at least 21 years of age or older to apply
• MUST pass a criminal history background check and drug screen

Responsibilities

• Active engagement with psycho-educational groups, physical activities, therapeutic and scholastic assignments and coaching pro social skills by modeling healthy relationship building skills.
• Empathy and trauma informed care through compassionate listening and re-directing negativity to ensure the resident feels safe which helps them towards healing past trauma.
• Modeling and coaching pro-social skills and improves their self-esteem through collaborative work with peers.
• Safety and supervision of the residents to provide routines and ensure a secure environment.
