Job summary

CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck, ND seeks a Mental Health Tech to provide front-line support in the therapeutic milieu, aiding patients on their journey to mental wellness and helping create a safe, supportive environment.

You will help with crisis prevention, basic nursing tasks, group facilitation, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to promote healing and positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with at least one year of experience as a Psych Tech or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain CPI Certification, Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting, and First Aid within timelines.
• BLS or BLS instructor certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Guide patients through a trauma-informed lens to build resilience.
• Provide feedback and reinforcement to help patients recognize patterns.
• Assist with basic nursing tasks including vital signs and specimen collection.
• Support groups and psycho-educational sessions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and de-escalate crises using CPI techniques.
