Job summary

La Rabida Children's Hospital in Chicago seeks a Skill Advancement Coach to strengthen supervisory capacity within DCFS/CWCA teams. This role focuses on leadership, trauma-informed practice, and evidence-based development plans for investigation supervisors and staff.

The selected candidate will conduct in-person coaching, support reflective practice, and help integrate coaching into program initiatives, contributing to continuous learning and accountability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, psychology, public administration or related field; Minimum of three (3) years of experience in child welfare or related fields
• Preferred: Master’s degree in social work, human services, psychology, public administration or related field; Minimum of two (2) years experience providing staff development, coaching, mentoring, training, or leadership development
• Excellent verbal and written abilities are essential, as well as a high level of computer skills
• Must be an excellent communicator and team player
• Employee must maintain automobile insurance with recommended liability limits

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person, individual and group coaching to DCFS investigation supervisors and other targeted audiences, focusing on leadership, communication, reflective practice, and problem-solving skills
• Support investigation supervisors and other assigned staff in applying trauma-informed, family-centered, and evidence-informed practices with their teams
• Provide reflective support to supervisors and other assigned staff, helping them improve decision-making, team management, and staff development practices
• Foster a culture of continuous learning, feedback, and accountability among supervisory and other staff
• Support integration of coaching into DCFS designated program initiatives
• Collect and analyze outcomes
• Contribute to CQI processes
• Performs other duties as assigned
