Job summary

CVOEO is hiring a housing advocate to join our team at Champlain Place in Vermont. You will provide client-centered, trauma-informed support to emergency housing clients and others experiencing homelessness, helping them access safe, sustainable housing and essential benefits.

This weekend day shift amounts to 16 hours per week. A Bachelor’s Degree in social or human services is required, with bilingual abilities considered a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in social or human services or a combination of education and experience with comparable skills.
• Commitment to diversity and inclusive environment.
• Knowledge of homelessness causes, housing access, and related social services.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed, client-centered support to emergency housing clients and others experiencing homelessness.
• Assist clients in securing housing and accessing essential benefits.
• Refer clients to employment, medical, mental health, and substance use services.
• Collaborate with community partners to address housing barriers and coordinate referrals.
