Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma, Inc. seeks an Executive Early Childhood Director to lead its Head Start Preschool and Early Head Start programs in Perkins, OK. The role drives strategy, budget oversight, and regulatory compliance, while fostering a trauma-informed, family-centered learning environment.

The Director will manage multi-million dollar federal grants, supervise leadership staff, and collaborate with Tribal leaders to advance holistic child development and community partnerships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Administration, or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Five years in early childhood or family services.
• Three years in senior leadership within Head Start or DHS-licensed facility.
• Extensive experience managing federal grants and compliance reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit grant applications and compliance documents to federal/state agencies.
• Oversee sound financial management including complex budgets and cost-effectiveness monitoring.
• Lead workforce sustainability initiatives and competitive salary scales.
• Ensure compliance with Head Start standards and Oklahoma licensing rules.
• Supervise staff, conduct evaluations, and manage professional development.
