Job summary

Uintah County, Utah seeks a part-time Forensic Interview Specialist to conduct developmentally sensitive interviews of children and vulnerable adults using the NICHD Protocol. The role involves collaborating with a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) including law enforcement, DCFS, prosecutors, and medical providers to ensure interviews withstand legal scrutiny.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, plus a preference for 3 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, child development, criminal justice, behavioral science, or a closely related field.
  • Preference for three years of professional experience in child welfare, criminal justice, forensic interviewing, victim services, or behavioral health.
  • Valid Utah driver’s license and ability to pass a background check.
  • Willingness to complete NICHD forensic interview training within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct developmentally sensitive forensic interviews of children and vulnerable adults using NICHD Protocol.
  • Collaborate with MDT including law enforcement, DCFS, prosecutors, and medical providers.
  • Participate in weekly case staffing, monthly MDT case reviews, and statewide peer reviews.
  • Maintain meticulous case documentation and handle recordings under evidentiary standards; provide courtroom testimony when subpoenaed.
