Mercy House is seeking a Shelter Specialist in Oxnard, CA to provide supportive services and logistical support for the Emergency Shelter Program. The role includes shelter setup, facility cleanliness, and neighborhood patrols, with emphasis on crisis intervention and trauma-informed service delivery.

Qualified candidates should have a high tolerance for urgent cases, a client-focused approach, and preferably Spanish fluency. The position is full-time and non-exempt.

• Ability to perform crisis intervention as needed; fluency in Spanish is a valued asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with shelter setup and maintenance to ensure a clean, safe environment.
• Provide crisis intervention and trauma-informed services during shifts.
• Conduct neighborhood patrols to minimize impact on the surrounding community.
• Maintain daily summary sheets and assist with record-keeping and reporting.
• Support guest services and program activities as needed.
