Job summary

Advancing Opportunities, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for its Residential Services in New Jersey.

The DSP will provide compassionate, person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, promoting independence, health, and community inclusion. Responsibilities include direct care, supervision, skill-building, transportation, medication administration, and daily living support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Human Services preferred.
• Six months to one year of experience in IDD or human services preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required.
• CPR and First Aid certification required or obtainable within designated timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living to promote independence.
• Provide direct care, supervision, and skill-building.
• Support ISP/IHP/BSP implementation and tracking.
• Administer medications per policy and physician orders.
• Transport individuals to appointments and activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation and logs.
• Participate in crisis prevention and de-escalation as trained.
• Collaborate with team and families to ensure quality services.
