Job summary

Catholic Charities Washtenaw County is seeking a full-time crisis counselor therapist for the Washtenaw Child Advocacy Center (WCAC). The role provides crisis intervention, short-term support, and information/referral services to child sexual abuse victims and their families.

You will conduct crisis counseling during/after forensic interviews, assess needs, and develop materials and follow-up plans. A welcoming, collaborative team environment supports ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Criminal Justice or related field.
• Two years’ experience in child abuse, crisis intervention, trauma informed therapy or related area.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention, short-term support, court preparation and information/referral services to child sexual abuse victims and non-offending family members.
• Conduct individual crisis counseling with children and non-offending caregivers during and after forensic interviews.
• Clinically assess immediate emotional, psychological, and physical needs and provide referrals.
• Create and maintain forms, brochures, educational materials, and referral resources for children and family.
• Provide follow-up services.
