Job summary

North Central Behavioral Health Systems in Canton, IL seeks a Crisis Intervention Specialist to deliver crisis intervention, treatment planning, brief case management, and supportive services within the Behavioral Health Urgent Care.

Work with the Urgent Care Team to respond to walk-ins, perform risk assessments, and apply de-escalation techniques. Responsibilities include documentation, collaboration with families, supervision, and on-call rotation with compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related Human Service field.
• 2+ years' Behavioral Health experience in a related setting preferred.
• High school diploma with substantial clinical experience also considered.
• Prior crisis intervention experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to walk-in requests for crisis support and provide counseling.
• Deliver trauma-informed crisis counseling and identification of needs.
• Use screening tools to assess risk and determine interventions.
• De-escalate and stabilize clients during acute behavioral health symptoms.
• Document services accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with families and community partners on next steps.
• Participate in rotating on-call schedule with compensation for on-call work.
• Engage in supervision, meetings, and quality improvement activities.
• Maintain required certifications and licensure.
