Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and school staff.
• Knowledge of diverse needs of children with disabilities and appropriate classroom practices.
• Criminal history check and authorization to work in the U.S. required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and supervises students in all settings.
• Assists in de-escalation of students.
• Assists with arrival and dismissal of students.
• Assists students with projects, crafts, and curriculum tasks.
• Supervises children during drills, assemblies, play periods, and field trips.
• Reports serious infractions to staff.
• Aids physically handicapped children, especially those with appliances or prosthetics.
• Participates in Handle with Care procedures and UHS De-escalation training.
• Follows handbook and policy procedures; participates in in-service training.
• Performs other duties as assigned by administration or teachers.
