Job summary

Montana State University in Bozeman seeks a Civil Rights Investigator within Campus Civil Rights to independently plan, conduct, and document investigations into protected class discrimination and harassment, including Title IX matters.

The role requires trauma-informed interviewing, strong written communication, and the ability to coordinate with Campus partners to implement interim measures and educate the MSU community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree or higher in a relevant field.
• Experience writing and presenting data clearly.
• Experience managing a high-volume case load.

Responsibilities

• Document intake of initial reports of protected class discrimination and harassment.
• Analyze reports to determine jurisdiction with Title IX Coordinator.
• Plan and execute prompt, thorough investigations with best-practice methods.
• Develop informal resolution options.
• Draft detailed factual reports for the decisionmaker.
• Provide testimony about methods and findings.
