Job summary

The University of Delaware in Newark, DE is seeking a Blue Hen Essentials Manager to oversee daily operations of basic needs programs, including the Food & Supply Pantry, Clothing Coop, and Student Crisis Fund. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in higher education, student affairs, counseling, social work, or a related field with four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination.
  • Experience in case management or basic needs initiatives within higher education or community settings.
  • Ability to design, implement, and assess programs and services that support student success and well‑being.
  • Experience developing and leading outreach initiatives that engage diverse student populations and reduce barriers to access.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, with the ability to support students from diverse identities, backgrounds, and experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations and development of basic needs initiatives (Food & Supply Pantry, Clothing Coop, Student Crisis Fund).
  • Develop and maintain procedures, workflows, and service standards to ensure confidential, equitable operations.
  • Coordinate improvements of Blue Hen Essentials services using trauma-informed, student-centered practices.
  • Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate student employees.
  • Monitor budget, resources, and donor engagement to support ongoing operations and services.
