Job summary

East Bay Agency for Children (EBAC) is seeking an Afterschool Intervention Specialist to provide targeted support to TK–5 students in a school setting. You will plan individual or small-group sessions, lead activities, and collaborate with caregivers and school staff to ensure students’ needs are met after school.

The role requires experience with diverse populations, strong classroom management, and the ability to adapt interventions.

Qualifications

  • Completion of 48 college units or IA exam; IA exam setup assistance available.
  • Experience working with parents/caregivers and school staff.
  • Experience with diverse, multilingual preschool/elementary populations.
  • Two years’ experience providing interventions for elementary students with special needs or behavioral/academic needs.
  • Strong student/group management and conflict resolution; restorative practices a plus.
  • Team player with good time management and interpersonal skills; able to work in a fast-paced school environment.
  • Spanish speaking preferred but not required.
  • Reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare academic or social-emotional lessons for individuals or small groups.
  • Lead activities that support students’ needs.
  • Collaborate with caregivers and school staff to meet afterschool needs.
  • Participate in staff COST meetings and parent meetings.
  • Support student integration with other programs.
  • Attend trainings based on the population served.
  • Assess needs, document services, and evaluate progress.
  • Communicate with parents and school staff about needs and progress.
  • Provide consultation and training to afterschool instructors on intervention strategies.
  • Develop supportive relationships with caregivers.
  • Create classroom curriculum for the general student population.
  • Use diverse strategies including trauma-informed and social–emotional practices.
