Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required.
• RN licensure in Alabama or compact state required.
• ACLS within 1 year of hire required.
• BLS upon hire required.
• Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care and coordinates nursing care in assigned units.
• Administers medications including controlled substances and blood products.
• Supervises and precepts new staff and nursing students.
• Maintains accurate documentation and discharge planning.
• Communicates with physicians and families and responds to emergencies per policy.
