Requirements include graduation from an approved nursing program, current VA RN license or eligibility, and BLS-HCP; additional certifications may be required by unit. EMR proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program.
• Experience: None.
• Licensure: Current RN license in Virginia or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required; ACLS/PALS/NRP may be required by unit.
• Other Qualifications: Computer literacy and EMR use.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized patient care across ages.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
• Document age-specific assessments in EMR.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on care plans.
• Participate in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
• Manage resources and prioritize tasks.
• Support orientation and training of new staff.
