Job summary

OU Health is seeking an Experienced RN for the Trauma ICU in Oklahoma City. The RN I position supports care for patients with complex conditions, under general supervision, aligning with OU Health values.

The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and collaboration with physicians and staff. Qualifications include an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing, 0-3 years of patient-care experience, current RN license in OK (or eNLC), and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• RN license current in Oklahoma or multistate (eNLC).
• BLS certification required at hire.
• Experience in nursing in hospital setting preferred for RN I.
• Knowledge of nursing theory and practices.

Responsibilities

• Aligns behaviors with OU Health values and maintains nursing professional practice standards.
• Assumes responsibility for an assigned patient or group of patients.
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and changes in physician orders.
• Assists physician in examination and minor procedures.
• Monitors and assesses physiological data, intervenes when needed.
• Administers medications as prescribed.
• Manages IV infusions and blood products.
• Delivers patient care safely and competently.
• Resolves patient complaints in collaboration with staff.
• Informs patients and families about procedures and care plans.
• Delivers referrals to appropriate personnel.
• Supports mentorship, maintains licensure, and pursues ongoing development.
• Fosters inclusive teamwork and upholds organizational mission.
• Delegates tasks to clinical support staff as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
