Job summary

Banner University Medical Group in Phoenix, AZ seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (PA/ACNP) to join the Level 1 Trauma Surgery ICU. You will co-manage ICU patients, perform procedures, interpret tests, and contribute to education and research in a fast-paced academic setting.

Open to experienced APPs and motivated new grads with acute care, trauma, or TSICU exposure. Weekday management with rotating weekends/holidays and potential night shifts.

Qualifications

• Current ACNP/PA certification is required.
• Board certification and DEA license required.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• TNCC or ATLS preferred.
• Bronchoscopy, arterial line, central venous line, FAST, chest tube placement basics.
• 3+ years of acute care, trauma, TSICU bedside experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directly manages trauma surgery ICU patients on weekdays, rotating weekends/holidays with potential night coverage.
• Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures and interpret tests.
• Educate, consult, and contribute to research within a fast-paced academic environment.

Banner - University Medicine Phoenix seeks a dynamic and team-focused Advanced Practice Provider (PA or ACNP) to join our Level 1 Trauma Surgery ICU at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix (BUMCP). BUMCP is the leading accredited and ACS verified Level 1 Trauma Center serving the Greater Phoenix communities with exceptional patient care and empathy. Our advanced practice providers are continually learning, adapting, and detail-oriented in co-managing our trauma surgery ICU patients via a respectful and collaborative setting.

The ideal candidate is experienced and comfortable being involved in clinical management of patients, performing therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, interpretation of diagnostic tests, prescription of medications, education, consultation, and research. This position is also open to highly motivated new graduate APPs with prior acute care, trauma, or ICU experience that enjoy a fast-paced academic environment.

The selected provider directly manages trauma surgery intensive care unit patients on weekdays, rotating weekends/holidays with potential night coverage.

• Current ACNP certification or PA certification
• First Assist Credentials preferred for ACNPs.
• Current Board Certification, DEA license, and BLS/ACLS certification are required.
• TNCC or ATLS certification is preferred.
• Acquiring procedures/certifications are required within the year of hire (Bronchoscopy, arterial line, central venous line, ultrasound (FAST), chest tube placement, brain death certification)
• Minimum of 3 year experience in acute care, trauma, or TSICU bedside experienced preferred

Acquisition of procedure expectations:

• Bronchoscopy
• Central venous line placement
• Basic wound care
• Point of care ultrasound procedures (FAST=focused assessment with sonography for trauma)
• Chest tube placement
• ATLS
