Job summary

Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Trauma/General Surgery teams. The role involves managing trauma and post-operative inpatient care across multiple teams with emphasis on post-call duties and discharge coordination.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program.
• Current, or eligibility for, MN license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant
• BLS/ACLS certification
• ATLS certification or obtained within two years - we will provide (audit or complete course)

Responsibilities

• Help manage all aspects of trauma and post-operative patient care from admission to discharge for all four of our trauma teams, as well as general inpatient care for teams that are busy
• Have a strong emphasis on post call duties – tertiary exams, discharges, coordinating care
• Interface with all levels and disciplines of the healthcare team to increase the quality of patient care, patient education and streamline the discharge process
• Support our staff surgeons in the Surgery Clinic as needed.

Education
