A community support organization located in Texas is seeking a Child and Adult Counselor to provide therapeutic services to individuals affected by domestic and sexual violence. Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in a relevant field, as well as prior experience with trauma-affected clients. The position requires flexibility in hours, including participation in an on-call rotation. Additionally, bilingual applicants are preferred. This role offers a yearly pay rate between $49,000 and $52,000.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with children, youth and adults that have experienced trauma.
• Licensure is preferred but not required.
• Bilingual is preferred but not required.
• Minimum of a Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Sociology, or Psychology.
• Must pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle report, and reference checks.
• Must have a clean driving record and automobile insurance coverage.
• Ability to lift/carry/move a minimum of 40 lbs. for an extended distance.
• Ability to be on location to on-call status areas within 45 minutes.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct services by conducting family, individual, and group counseling sessions.
• Develop and update counseling plans based on assessments and victimization history.
• Maintain client confidentiality.
• Attend agency awareness events and networking groups.
• Serve within the on-call rotation schedule to provide accompaniment.
• Answer the 24-hour Crisis Hotline and provide information and referrals.
• Provide training to volunteers and the public on family and sexual violence education.
• Assist with supervising volunteers/interns.
