Job summary

Mercy Medical Center Redding, part of the CommonSpirit Health system, is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care within an interdisciplinary team.

The role requires NP or PA credentials with critical care or emergency care exposure, at least one year in an acute hospital setting, and active ACLS/BLS certifications. English-Spanish bilingual skills are a plus, with trauma-trained candidates strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate as a Nurse Practitioner (MSN) from an accredited school.
• Graduate as a PA from an institution accredited by the Commission on Education of Physician Assistants (with a Bachelor's Degree)
• NP or PA with Critical Care and/or Emergency Care experience required
• One year of experience in an acute hospital setting required
• Advanced Trauma Life Support training required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required (must be certified through the American Heart Association)

Responsibilities

• Performs routine physical/psychosocial assessment to collect basic data: follows the written plan of care, standards, practice guidelines, utilizes pathways, which includes notifying physicians as appropriate
• Formulates a plan of care for individual needs, including patient population needs. Participates in the planning of routine transitional health care needs (i.e. treatment options, patient placement options)
• Adapts planned educational programs and information to individual patients and family by modifying teaching strategies or content. Integrates education during the delivery of patient care
• Ensures efficiency in the delivery of care to determine immediate priorities and to offer solutions for problems
• Makes independent clinical decisions based on knowledge drawn from education and experience
• Actively advocates for patient rights and identifies potential conflict. Seeks counsel for resolution of conflict
