Job summary

The Hughston Clinic in Montgomery, AL seeks a Trauma Advanced Practice Provider to extend and enhance the clinical productivity of surgeons and improve care delivery for injured patients. The APP will split time between inpatient and ambulatory settings with emphasis on the ambulatory/clinic role.

Responsibilities include clinic management, triage, minor procedures, rounds, and coordination of transitions from hospital to post-acute care.

Qualifications

• One year orthopaedics experience preferred.
• Surgical First Assist training or eligibility within one year.
• NCCPA or NP Board Certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• Current State and DEA Licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Ambulatory care duties, triage, and clinic management alongside surgeons.
• Assist in minor procedures and manage postoperative care planning.
• Coordinate transitions of care from inpatient to outpatient settings.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions.

Skills

Orthopaedics experience

First Assistant experience

NCCPA or NP Board Certification

BLS certification

State license

DEA license

Flex schedule ability

Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) clearance

Education

Master’s degree in Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program

Surgical First Assist training or eligible within 1 year
